About MES
Managed equipment services or "MES" transactions are the outsourcing of all facets of medical equipment and technology to third party service providers. These transactions change the legal nature of what have traditionally been asset acquisitions, leases and rentals to the provision of "services". This transformative outsourcing platform has consistently provided savings of as much as 25% of the capital cost of equipment over a life cycle and as much as 15% annual operational costs related to the operations of medical equipment and related technology.
Equipment lifecycles represent capital cost savings on equipment refreshes. With two or three refresh cycles governed by an MES contract, cost savings are guaranteed because of longer contract terms for equipment manufactures and additional margins created through tax savings for suppliers. Operationally, there are as many as sixteen main areas of risk transfer and overhead reductions that provide annual operating budget savings that can exceed capital cost savings through the life of an MES contract.
